The LIFE Nirvana project was presented at an event organized by the Council of Granada on 28th September 2021. Damián Sánchez, Project Manager at Cetaqua, explained the technologies we are developing to addresses the environmental problem of groundwater pollution of nitrates with an innovative in-situ solution.
This event was part of the European LIFE Ecogranularwater Project, and three projects were presented: LIFE Nirvana, LIFE SPOT and LIFE DESIROWS. All of them deal with the issue of nitrate contamination. LIFE SPOT does so through nature-based solutions and the valorisation of algae waste, while LIFE DESIROWS aims to reduce first-osmosis brine, crystallize salts, eliminate nitrates, and recover water resources.
The event helped to understand the impact of nitrate pollution and how it can be tackled using different technologies. It was a really good opportunity to create community and bring together all the stakeholders and projects of the LIFE programme.
